FinTech Belgium is on all the newspapers!

These days our Chairman Jean Louis Van Houwe is being interviewed by several press, like Trends, Tendances, De Tijd, FD Magazine, L’Echo, Business AM and La Libre Belgique.

Fintech Belgium, the umbrella of Belgian companies in financial technology, is sounding the alarm. "While fintech is really booming on a European level, the momentum in our country is weakening. So something is going on," says chairman Jean-Louis Van Houwe.

With companies such as Bancontact, Swift, Euroclear and the former Ogone, Belgium has a long tradition of digital financial innovations. However, this favourable starting position has not resulted in a new generation of payment champions, notes Jean-Louis Van Houwe, the chairman of Fintech Belgium. "Then the Netherlands, with payment players such as Mollie, Adyen and Buckaroo, or Sweden with Klarna, have done much better."
