itsme® has acquired the Dutch digital identification service iDIN

Big milestone for our member itsme®

We’re pleased to share that itsme® has acquired the Dutch digital identification service iDIN, marking its first expansion beyond Belgium and a strategic step into the Netherlands as the next market of focus.

Developed by Currence, iDIN was founded by leading Dutch banks: ING, Rabobank, ABN AMRO and ASN Bank and is widely used by millions of people across the Netherlands to securely verify their identity with webshops, insurers and other online services.

Commenting on the acquisition, CEO Tom Van Den Bosch shared:
“iDIN is a trusted name in the Netherlands, and by joining forces, we are preparing for the future: a single solution that combines ease of use with the highest international security standards. This acquisition marks the transition of itsme® towards a broader European digital identity platform, offering reliable digital identification for everyone, everywhere at any time.”

A strong step forward for European digital identity and cross-border trust. Congratulations to the itsme® team on this exciting development!
